Technical what engine do i have

im new here,be gentle. having just brought a ducato 14 r reg 2.5 non turbo,im looking for a sump to replace mine as nearly rusted out,went to get a second hand one from somebody braking a boxer 2.5 non turbo thinking that they would be the same,wrong the sump fitted to mine has raised markings underneath and is slightly v shaped at the front,while the other was smooth and slighly different shape,im wondering if i have a older engine in or is this correct for year. the code on the front of block read GASSVM+CV on the right and 765066Stab on the left.please help as need a sump asap.jon

According to fiat same sump on were the bolt patterns the same? Maybe the one you went to see was really a 1.9 or a 2.8
M4 - M:2500 DS
M5 - M:2500 TD
M6 - M:2500 TD EGR
M7 - M:2500 TD ECO

just manage to find what engine ive got,its a iveco 2.5. need to find engine code as the number didnt tally with anything does anyone would know were to get a sump from now,would a fiat dealer have these or would i need to go to iveco or better anyone got one of these kicking around.jon

The ducato is made by sofim (iveco) the bolt patterns should be the same even if the pressings are different.

having spoke to fiat they found the sump i need,at a cost of £412, the part number from them f00998488626.is there a part pattern one that could be brought at less money,engine number starting 24255,as that was a bit of a shocker to me. would be good to point me in the right direction to place an order.many thanks

:bang: Did you not read what I wrote?

The sump is the same on all the 2.5 engines,

M4 - M:2500 DS
M5 - M:2500 TD
M6 - M:2500 TD EGR
M7 - M:2500 TD ECO

The part number you just quoted is the sump for all of the above engines.

Find a used 2.5 engine and get the sump off it

Or if you really want to throw good money after bad get a new one on ebay there are only ummmmm 9 listed at the moment.
