Hi all have bought a cheap citreon relay van with a blown engine have fitted a 2.5 non turbo ducato engine and box the problem is the driveshafts have got 2 intermediate shafts 1 is to small the other to big anybody know if there is a 3rd size

As you know they are different lengths on each side, but your compatibility problem might be that there was a mechanical (as well as body) redesign in 1995; possibly your engine& box, as it's a non-turbo, pre-dates the changeover?

Thanks for your reply both engine and box came from a 1996 van it is not the length of the shaft but the width the smaller one goes in but is a very loose fit the other wont fit at all i e to big

Hmm, I still suspect that there might be a difference. I believe that the 95 to 2001 Relay was supplied with several different engine sizes, 2.2 for example, which were sourced from their own range while the Ducato of that era was supplied only with a 1.9 or 2.5

Possibly the Relay engine had its own non Fiat box and the driveshafts might have been specials to match up with it.

I am certain that the running gear for both Ducatos and Relays is identical so one solution might be to get hold of some Ducato driveshafts.
