Technical Ducato X250 service reset

Your help please...

Is it correct that a flashing red oil pressure light on the new shape Ducato (2.2l 100PS) is an oil degradation marker which can only be reset by your friendly Fiat technician with his computer?

I have just had a service done on the van by a non-franchise garage and he tells me (after I've paid the bill) that this is the case.

Sadly you need to reset oil parameters in the engine ecu and also service indicator in instrument panel with examiner, at you local fiat dealer.
