thanks Dave :),
i have just been running the engine and the warning light goes of then comes back on then off for a while and carries on like this off/on etc when the engine gets warm, could this be a sticking relay?

i used the fiatscan software and got the fan running on the drivers side but not the one on the passsenger side, are they numbered from the passenger side

cheers

I still have this problem of the injection light on for code P0480, the light is on all the time , i have connected 12volt to the fan direct and it runs ( so not a faulty fan ) i have swapped the relays behind the cover on the radiator and still have the same problem , where is the sensor for the tempreture to turn the fans on any can any body give me any other ideas to try , its been to a garage for 4 hours with no joy

thanks
chris

Fiat garage?

How about some vehicle details?

hi
its a 2002 ducato 2.8jtd
i have checked the relays and then they are both ok , i have connected 12v to the fan and it runs, i have checked the fuses and can not find a blown one , i have thought about getting the temp sender replaced to rule out that,

i live in a little village and the nearest fiat dealer is 80 miles away , the garage i took it to is the one i use for servicing which has diagnostics but could get no futher
thanks

Relays are activated by grounding in the ecu.

Measure resistance between pin 19 of the ecu connector (yellow I think) and positive.

Measure resistance between pin 20 of the ecu (grey/black I think) and positive.
