Hi!

I have a motor home based on a Ducato 2.5TDi from 1997.
Driving it today the glow plug light on the dash board started turning on and off and I can hear the glow plug timer ticking.

The temperature outside was about 20C/68F and the enging was warm when this started so I need some help finding out what causes this problem.

Could it be the glow plug timer that has malfunctioned or can this type of error occur when a glow plug needs to be changed even when it is warm outside or is it perhaps a temperature sensor that has gone bad?

Did this happen when you started the engine (ie about 30 seconds after you had started the engine from cold), or once it was started and whilst you were driving?
