just had a fantastic day repairing the gear lever on my van.
the whole mechanism just fell out and flapped around which really was very dangerous as gear selection was almost impossible.
the metal cracked and pulled away from the rest of the framework. the metal is extremley thin so really i'm amazed its lasted 9 years.
i had to completely remove the whole of the plastic dash panel in order to weld the gear lever mount back.
i should have taken some pics for you all but i was just too cross to think about it at the time.

very common problem hapened to me too , a year ago ......
