Re: Ducato (2003) - Fan heater not blowing air

Thanks to you both. I'm off to try this morning.

Good luck. I hope your replacement lasts longer than mine (about a month!).

Re: Ducato (2003) - Fan heater not blowing air

Well, having spent most of this morning on the job, I'm now stumped. I have had the centre dash off and removed the switch which seems OK by my multimeter. There is no +12v on any of the connections with the ignition switched on. Ditto at fan connection and resistor. The fan fuse in the glove box is OK with 12v on both sides of it, interestingly even when the ignition is off. The handbook refers to fuses for the fan/heater under the bonnet on the RHS. I found these and all are intact. Can anyone help?

I failed to mention earlier that I have a slightly earlier Ducato (2001) embedded in a Hymer B series motorhome. It has aircon in the heater assy. The aircon switch is similarly dead.

Cheers,

Mike

Re: Ducato (2003) - Fan heater not blowing air

Fixed it! Tracing the wires got me to a different fuse in the set in the glove box. The fourth from the left is indicated on the lid as nothing but in my case has been used for the heater fan. Although I haven't traced it I now wonder what the last fuse from the left (which the legend on the lid says is the heater fan) is.

Anyway thanks to all mostly for the encouragement to get on with it.

Cheers,

Mike

Nice one, Mike. I love a happy ending. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Happy camping! :-)
