***FIAT DUCATO IMMOBILISER FAULT***
Can Anyone help please. I have a fault on my 2004/06 2.8jtd Fiat Ducato motorhomes Immobiliser. The padlock light on the dashboard is flashing with two flash intervals and the engine turns over but will not start when you turn the key. I have had the keys checked, checked all wiring connections to both the main ecu and the small immobiliser ecu mounted on the steering column, replaced the antenna ring around the ignition and tried all sorts of things but the fault remains. I can start the van by putting in the emergency code with the accelerator pedal and counting the flashes via the engine management light but I really need to fix it properly. Does anyone know - if i replace the small immobiliser ecu unit, will it need to be coded or have any idea on how I may be able to repair this fault. I,ve read that I can place a wire from the switched side of the ignition directly to the solenoid on the diesel pump after breaking the top/pcb section off and that this will overcome the fault but i'm aware that all the ecu.s and the solenoid valve all talk to each other. I'm scared that if I mess the system around, I may not be able to get the van started at all. Can anyone help please.
many thanks Graham

Hi Graham,

I'm sure that you have resolved this by now but for anyone reading in future, my parents van had the same issue, 2003 ducato. The fix was to remove and replace the small immobiliser box below the steering column and have it recoded to the keys. All was working great after that. I think it cost around 300 in total for the parts, labour and coding so not cheap.
