Hello,

I am from Turkey and ready to buy a new Doblo. But I have a question. I saw some photos of "European" version and "Turkish" version of Doblo. Please check attached photos. First one is European and second one is Turkish.

As you know, we have a Fiat factory here in Turkey but no option to get that "computer" thing or whatever you call it. Only cassette or cd player.

Could you please tell me :

- What exactly is it ?
- Can I order it separately from Europe / what is the price of it / where can I order it ?

I am 100% sure that we have no such option in Turkey. It seems weird but correct.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

TuKa

Welcome TuKa (sorry ozzie mate, I've been a naughty boy again).

As far as I know the larger version is a combined radio/cd player and SatNav system. It is an option that as far as I can remember costs way more than a seperate good quality SatNav hence I don't think many people buy them.

Perhaps its not available in Turkey due to poor map data etc. (Only a guess).

I would agree with Niall_G.

The map data for your country is probably poor, which is why it may not be included in your options list. To be honest it would cost you a lot of money to have one, and it's just not worth it (although I haven't tried one so I could be wrong)!

If you do want Satellite Navigation (or GPS) then buy a seperate one such as 'Garmin' as I'm led to believe their map data for Turkey is better than TomTom's (again due to avaliability in your country I could be wrong) :D

Thanks for your answers.

Its strange because actually we have good and detailed maps (I tried a Garmin SatNav/GPS unit with a local map and it was impressive), at least for big cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Adana, Antalya ...

Ok, even I don't understand, I am sure they have a good reason not to give it as an option in Turkey. But for me, its odd because for example Doblo is very popular between taxis here and these SatNav/GPS toys ;) are slowly by slowly becoming "new fashion" in taxis in Turkey.

Again, thanks for your answers !

Kind regards,

TuKa

, they are becoming very popular with taxi drivers. Just had an order in work for 15 for a local small taxi firm

Will you also be supplying the non-functioning indicators, the park 'where I effing like' attitude, and amputation of legs (I assume thats why they honk their horns in the middle of the night rather than get out and ring the customers door bell), etc

(putting on asbestos underpants).

What? As opposed to those beacons of probity the courier driver you mean? Your wifes Dobbie doesn't happen to be white does it?:D

Merhaba TuKa,

Don't try and understand Niall-G; we don't. Not always.

The reason you can't get it in Turkey is because it is over-complicated and doesn't work very well.

Stick with the proprietary sat-nav systems (Garmin etc..) like we do, and you'll be able to find your way around just fine.

Sonra gorusmek uzere.

PS Niall-G. I do understand, and sympathize, but your language is idiomatic and possibly difficult for a non-English speaker...

Merhaba,

Thanks Ulpian. You are right about the language.

As I am a taxi driver I will answer these points.

non-functioning indicators = I must admit I do find this annoying on other taxi drivers no need for it so your right there.

the park 'where I effing like' attitude = Not sure about your council but in Barnsley we can park were we effing like to pick up and drop off so of course we do.

and amputation of legs (I assume thats why they honk their horns in the middle of the night rather than get out and ring the customers door bell
= Well the reason we do this is that it has been known for people to order a taxi to a house, which is not theres then when we get out to knock on door they either mug us or try and get into the taxi. So sure you can understand why we honk our horns.
