Hi
I just had my 12000 service done (@10300 miles) and after 200 miles the CHANGE OIL warning light keeps appearing

WTF?????

Please help!!

this is a 56 Reg 1.9 Multijet Diesel engine

ok
thanks for the welcome

appreciated!!

but what the hell does that mean???

THey didnt put the correct volume of oil?
they didnt change the oil?

HOw do I cure this problem and is it still safe to drive?

big thanks

ok cheers

they did change the oil (just 3 days ago)

Should I return to the garage concerned and not drive it until its been addressed

the oil was changed so I am still confused what to do

thanks fore your help!

The actual interval for changing the oil and replacing the engine oil filter depends on the vehicle usage conditions and is signalled by the warning light or message, if present, in the instrument panel or 12K miles.

Depending on cluster fitted it might need reset.

Does it mention it in the manual?

Thats right Dave, all depends on engine/DPF.

ok cheers

my explanation is poor

Fuel and oil filter was changed and oil changed too
it was a full service 2 days ago

10300 miles

thats why im confused

Drop it in at dealers, let them see it.(let us know how you get on so can clarify it for other doblo owners here)

Cromas are like this...going to confuse owners at service time.Done a 1.3MJ doblo oil change recently at 5 months/6K odd because cluster said so...she mentioned she does lots of stop/start work so oil degraded quicker.

apparently because my local garage do not have the electronic computer to hook onto the in car computer it cannot reset the service warning and also the oil warning so it assumes the car is in need of an oil change and service so it is a reset issue

Thanks again

no

Didnt think Fiat offered value for money to be honest
£380 for a full 36 point service

I paid £200 less with genuine FIat Parts

Hi I am new here and I have this same problem. I bought a new Doblo 1.9 multijet 120 I had several problems mainly concerned with the appalling service from the main dealer I bought it from (now gone) so on it second service took it to a Fiat garage. Not long after, the change oil warning came on. I took it back but he could not remove it I took it to another main dealer they said he put the wrong oil in and showed me the correct one, I took it back to the Fiat garage he said they were wrong and rang Fiat parts who supplied the oil in my car they said the main dealer was wrong because my car has a DPF it must have the very expensive low ash oil that they supplied. So my car was serviced correctly runs fine but noone can remove the change oil warning that comes on about a minute after starting.
This will be my first and last ever Fiat.
Thanks John.

Difficult to understand exactly what you are saying. So the oil is not the problem, merely a software glitch with the warning light. Why is this such an enormous problem - just get the dealer to sort it when you have the time - it must be fixable? You can read many examples of rogue warning lights for various cars here, and on othe forums too: they are a modern day car reality unfortunatley.

Try buying a VW or Merc!
My friends have a Merc E Class and it now has to have four new dampers and some steering thing fixed - at £1500 - plus various warning lights haven't worked for years (they want a fortune for a new dash panel), and it has to go in for the second time to have rusting dealt with. It is a 2002 and has done 60,000 miles. I can't tell you how much has gone wrong with it, and it has broken down twice. So perhaps Fiats aren't so bad after all (y)

Gotta love the computerised motor.
In the yard we have the 3 ducatto-based buses, one has been off the road for about a fortnight awaiting parts. We also have half a dozen Mercs. the dash on these lights up like the flight deck of a 747, it has lights and buzzers for everything.
Drivers are constantly submitting defect sheets for random warnings that keep popping up.
As for computer glitches, try putting your PC into your car & see how long it performs. The internet is rife with tales of computers constantly crashing - it's the computer age, if they can't get it right in a desktop (and they've had years to perfect it) what chance have they of getting it right in a tin box that's constantly being rattled around?

And what about the volvos that suddenly drop speed for no reason & go into limp home mode - not good if you're hurtling down the motorway, noticed there's a similar thing happening with certain vauxhalls now - yet neither company will recall the faulty motors in this country.

Yes. The Merc I mention once went into limp home mode; then the mechanic took it home to check it and the thing completely broke down on him. Imagine what would be said if this was a humble Fiat!

Excuse for my english, but is a very long time that I don't use this Idioms.
I'm very happy to Know that out of Italy people likes a car like Fiat Doblò, and that defend the Manufacturer telling that is like the other ..
So, for the Alarm Lamp that notice the need to change oil, is difficult to ignore the suggest, because in the instruction-book of the car is write to do the less mileage to go to the mechanic.
I suppose that the best soluction is, if possible to have a service to lean on, that follow the car in his life so you can have exploitation if something like this event ( lamps over only two days from the oil change ) Happens.
Bye
