Does anyone know the grade of fluid for a 1.9 NA Doblo for the power steering reservoir?

I went to Macclesfield to get some transmission oil for the Doblo, it needed about a 1/2 pint.
No wonder I was getting strange noises on start up, I'll have to hope there is no damage done.
