Hello everyone,
just joined today, i found it on a google search.
We're a garage service centre and MOt station in the northwest england.
I've had a customer come in today with a 02 doblo JTD, it just died on the motorway.
got it here, and i plugged it in and got these codes p1671, p0235, p1612
The fuel pump seems to be working , checked the codes in the autodata but not really sure where to from here.
Anyone else had this problem,?
Any ideas?
thanks
Nice to join.

Assuming a 1.9Jtd with EDC-15C-J management:

P1612 refers to a faulty fuel filter heater
Fuel is pre-heated if fuel temperature is below approx. 6° C. This function is performed by a preheater (resistor element) at the fuel filter. It is switched by a thermoswitch in the pre-heater.
Potential problem sources:
- Open circuit in wiring, short circuit
- Fuse or relay defective
- Heating resistor defective
- Thermoswitch defective

P1671 refers to a faulty pressure regulator valve
To achieve the desired rail pressure, the pressure regulator is actuated by a control unit with a pulse-width modulated square-wave signal (on/off ratio).
Possible causes of fault:
* Broken wire, short circuit
* High resistance contact
* Rail pressure sensor (no function)
* Pressure control valve
* High pressure pump
* Leaks

No nothing like that!
Diagnosing and repairing engine management issues is a little hobby of mine nurtured from owning an Alfa with all its electrical gremlins

Best Regards

hi i have a panda 1.3 desel error code reads fuel pump relay control unit ive bought a code reader plugs into laptop this code said that it was stored do you know if this is an old fixed problem or new one as my car blows a 20 amp fuse igniton from time to time hope you can help regards

if blowing 20 amp fuse would suggest short somewhere is the fuse for glow plugs would suggest short to ground on a plug

try a multimter on each glow plug if unservicible it will read short circuit expectb 1.0 ohm if good plug

Was the 02 JTD a common rail engine (i didnt think so but not looked at one) or would the pressure regulator be on the fuel pump?

Thread is 4 years old & in 'Doblo' section, you will get more chance of help in the 'panda' section.

Hi
Noticed your comment regarding solving error codes.
Could you tell me what these mean?
P0403
P0401
Having problems with my Doblo. Replaced EGR thinking that would solve it. Hasn't. Got these error codes
Any help would be appreciated.

today car never blew a fuse but instruments on dash go dead and car goes dead noticed a slight clicking noise from (starter) waited for a min and then is started dont know when its going to happen again i now have a future code po401 on my code reader things seem to be going haywire !:bang:

P0401 = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected.
P0403 = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction.

Check the circuit (wiring and connectors) between the EGR valve and the ECU.
Hi
Thanks for your reply. My Doblo is a Multijet 1.9.
My problem is this, I drive the van, it runs fine. When I jump back in after a few minutes, it starts, runs for 10-15 seconds then dies. I can leave it for a minute try again, the same ,it dies. But if I leave it till it goes cold it starts and runs fine, sometimes for a few days, other times just a few hours! Then it happens again. I am not getting any engine management light. Also when it has been running fine and up to running temp., if I switch off then start her up immediately, fine no problem. It just seems to be when it's been a short journey warmed up, then cooled a bit.
It's really doing my head in! Wondered if it's the crankshaft sensor or maybe some kind of temperature sensor. I've done the EGR, thought it might be that!
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Jim
