Bought my 2003 Doblo JTD ELX today, having finally decided to say 'goodbye' to my Rover 75 V6  We needed something a little bit more versatile and economical and I must say that I love my Doblo to bits already. She's comfortable and responsive on the road and the 1.9 diesel seems to deliver plenty of poke. She's got 40k on the clock, one owner, full service history and came from a Fiat dealer. Everything seems as it should do. Anything I should look out for?

Hello and welcome to the forum and to the ever popular Doblo (y)

Not really a lot to look out for, although you'll see and read new and older posts with problems we've all had. One thing I'd say is, be careful what tyres you put on the front or they'll wear down quicker than you can say... well anything! Read some of the threads on tyre wear and you'll see what I mean ;)

Another thing is the squeaky rear suspension, if it happens to you and it gets on your nerves, squirt a little oil in the rear Anti-Roll bar bushes as this will be your problem (y)

Other than this they are great cars and you have a good engine, just take it easy and you'll reap in the savings in fuel, at the moment I'm only getting about 45mpg and I haven't been driving in my usual granny style or I normally get about 55mpg... although I'm still getting 550miles to a tank full! Just treat it well and it'll last you a lifetime... NiallG one of our members Cargo is on 200,000 miles and still going strong... and it's only 2 years old

See you round, Oz :)

Hey, you bought one just like me - ex Fiat, JTD ELX 3 y.o. except mine has 50k on the clock. :)

Only thing I've found so far is the auxiliary belt was worn/squeaking when I got it, but they're only £15 and the garage did it under warranty.

Also, unique to mine, is a jingly noise from the front lhs. I need to trace that. Sounds like spanners in the sump shield. Something loose anyway.

Best of luck.

Reggie, this will probably be your sump guard!

When I had mine I noticed a rattling/jingly noise when I dropped the bonnet or went over a speed bump, so I had a look and I could move the sump guard with my hand only to find there was only one bolt left holding it on

They looked like they had rusted out, or had been taken out and not put back in at some point so I went to halfrauds, matched the remaining bolt up and I now have a secure sump guard :)

Thanks for the welcome/advice folks. No problems with mine yet (touch wood). Can't get over the mpg 45-50 :slayer: Used to my Rover V6 doing 25 on a good day! Very impressed with the turning circle too. But those peddles are a bit close :(

I find when I drive the Doblo I quite often hit the accelerator instead of the brake as the driver in front will verify when I ran in the back of him. Strangly enough I don't have trouble with the Panda.

Intrestingly enough, in it's class, the doblo has the widest width between pedals! The berlingo etc the Doblo's rivals are even worse as some of the guys I know who work on Construction have told me! In wearing their big steel toe capped boots they can only just use one pedal at a time, I however can wear mine and still operate each pedal independantly!

I've driven a few cars which are worse like my mates Fiesta so it's not all bad :) do know what you mean though compared to a transit they are very close!
