Ok then, thought the dobbin was finished, done the 17 inch Alloy wheels 205/45 tyres (replacement tyres) , wind deflectors, and an A bar ......

But it still looks a little tall (no I'm not taking the roof bars off, need them to carry bikes/surfboard etc) ................ and after seeing all those pimped VW and other surf buses in Cornwall, the dobbin needs to fit in and be that little different .... (a custom dobbin does lend itself to be a surf bus, I think as time goes on they will become more popular)

So Without physically lowering the thing , it needs to have an illusion of looking lowered , so you need less window and body elongation (is that a word?)

The solution "viper stripes" + "a sun strip" , so I've been down to an auto graphics designer/installer, and have ordered stripes that are metallic charcoal under wide brushed alu inserts , the design come in 3 stripes totalling 40 cm in diameter to be installed on the centre line of the van , one wide in the middle with narrower ones either side , The colours are not garish and will match into the existing silver metallic colour , but are a good contrast and shine !!!

The cost £170 including a unique brushed alu effect sun strip...

Anyway should be installed in a couple of weeks so I'll post the pictures

Can't wait to see those pictures :D

I know what you mean about it looking tall, another way to make it look 'lower to the ground' is to fit side strips and rear and front valences below the bumper.

What I'm hoping to do with mine first though is get some body coloured bumpers like yours from a scrappy (this will be a challenge) as mine are just plain black at the moment!

A: It's probably more expensive to have it done properly and,
B: I've been told it's not as good painting on plastic...

Check out bodyshop section on here (y)

I can't see that a valance or bodykit(ozzie design s) would help any dobbin , (it's got enough tweaks to the body outline) my opinion with the calming measures and sandy carparks etc.. steer well away from those mods which lower any ground clearance.....

It would be interesting to know if the brazilian mods could be imported (two inch lift, i think and the 4*4 body kit) , I've enquired but to no avail ......

The side stripes maybe ?

I have considered doing the bumpers on Mrs_G's Cargo. Idealy I'd like to see what it would look like first. Anyone on here willing to paintshop the bumpers if I email a picture of the van?

Mine has body colour bumpers and I don't think they help it look lower.

For me the Dobbin is all about looking a bit crap, but if you want an effect I'd go for modding the front bumper so that its wider and squarer at the bottom, as the tucked in curve is what makes the thing look balanced on its wheels.

This looks better:

But then I like Japanese home market minivans....
