:D Well, done 4000 on my new Doblo cargo and took the plunge again and fitted a Dragon Digital tuning box to the Dobster.

What a difference!!! its really taken the 8 valve 1.9 jtd into a different league
They claim an increase fron the 105BHP and 200nm to 132bhp+ and 260nm and I don't doubt it for a minute this thing really moves know plenty of pull when loaded up. But the best thing is the fuel economy after 4000miles had averaged 44mpg combined and rising, now its upto 52mpg after 500 miles fitted ,same style driving and when on the motorway at 70 constant trip stays over 68mpg. Cost £ 150 new on ebay and transformed a good engine into a real cracker.

Ozzie if your watching get one the fueling alone is worth it not to mention the extra oomph. This is the second car ( different maker of box ) I've had them fitted to and both times big grin both on my face and in my pocket.

No to digress !!!

Found out a week ago that my wife and I after 15 years are expecting our first child:) complete shock but my lovely super quick 2 seater cargo has no room for baby to be!!::cry: so have big prob as a day before finding out sold my laguna as found Doblo more than adequate.

So need van for business but well impressed with our Doblo that might have to get an MPV version for baby. Got 7 months but looked at all manor of other normal cars and after driving one of these can't think about going back to a standard hatch. So may have bloody 2 Doblos in a few months time and if you had told me that a year ago I'd have said your off your head.

Off to scratch my head some more.:bang:

Thanks Chris, I'll have to keep an eye out for one then when I get some money ;)

Congratulations on the baby :D and yes the Doblo would be a great car for when it pops out (excuse the expression), think of how easy it'll be to put baby seats, prams etc. in as well :) although when the kid starts to go to school, it probably won't be the coolest car to turn up in - as I so found out haha ;)!

As the owner of; a) a Doblo, b) two kids, one of which is under 2 and c) a bad back, I agree with Ozzie. Those rear sliding doors a a godsend, especially in car parks.

If your thinking of having another sprog by the way - I woud recommend the 7 seater. You get the kids and the parents-in-law in the same car (actually not sure if this is a recommendation:( ) er, OK the kids and friends.

My wife now keeps banging away about the 7 seater but ooh!! Room for the motherinlaw on the back seat, bad move. But thanks just had a look at my local dealer he had shut but had about 10 mpv high roof versions on the forecourt obviously peoples new cars. I tried one of the doors and it was open!!! so had a good toot my they are huge could stand up in the back but looks I don't know.

But definetly the car for me my Cargo is excellant.

I think you can get the 7-seater with the low roof, looks a bit nicer if you ask me and more car like :)

Yup more than enough room. Unfortunately the hi-roof looks like it should have a wheel chair in the back. Un PC I know but.......

My dilemma when I change this is going to be claustrophobia in a normal car. Might have to be another Doblo:eek:

Tell me about it, the only thing that doesn't seem so claustraphobic is my Dad's Transit van! Even the family Freelander feels cramped now and I find it so hard to drive the thing!

I will one day in my life, own a Landrover Defender so I can go offroading, and beleive it or not this is what I was going to be getting before I spotted the Doblo (what a mistake that would have been). I think the Doblo will always be there :)

Aren't you affraid of blowing your engine or pulverizing your transmission?

The Doblo should be able to take that power increase without a problem, the parts etc. are designed to withstand more power and tourqe than just the engine that's put in them!

Chris, decided not to go for one now, heared some nasty things about them messing up ECU's and things, and a few members on here have had to leave the forum because they're car's ended up being sold on because of needing to spend £1000+ on a new ECU. Will just save up my money for a Angel Tuning remap, they even re-map it for you for free then if the dealer erases it when it goes in for a service! (y)

Ozzie , no probs, each to there own!! Don't sell em or have shares in them but have been running tuning boxes for 2 years now and 25000 miles and not had nothing go wrong, just had a biggergrin on my face than before and a fatter wallet with the extra mpg. Incidently just done 1000 miles this past 8 days with box on and been fantastic so I'm a happy punter. If the remap works for you tell me about it as would be interested.
Remember its only a 25% or so increase which is well within manufacturers tolerances and won't turn any car into a supercar least of all a Doblo:D
But it does give a far better drive with that extra oomph and mpg when banging up and down the country loaded up.and for £150 !!

Keep on saving!! C

Can you supply the website where you found your box?

Thank you.

Have a look here (y)
It's quite intresting, maybe the fact that other people have had problems is that you can adjust the box and they over-tuned it... That would worry me the fact that there's so much flexibility with the box! Although it's good for the money... To be honest, I'm torn mostly down to money, but I think I'll leave it and just get a remap if and when I can afford one :)

Ozzie, Thats exactly what the problem will be the box has 7 end user jumper levels 0 is standard 3 up and 3 down. have mine set on +1 this gives a sweet free reving keen engine with absolutly no undue stress or ecu light flashing.

Tried it on +2 and 3 and never had any probs also, but engine even though more pull didn't rev so free as loaded with more fuel. Either way though this is a great product and money aside this is virtually the same as a remap except easily removed. And quite frankly what your asking your friends at Angel to do is to remap up to + 45bhp ( website )thats alot of extra horses far more than this box allows as it has the option to down tune, a remap doesn't have the flexibility.

Also why I'm off on one more bhp isn't always the best for an engine as it can cause the engine to feel lazy and slow even though you'll feel a bigger pull.

By the way did I tell you that Dragon offer a 30 day no quibble refund if not entirely happy!!!!;)

If moneys tight ????????
