Hi guys:wave:
Going to be the owner of a lovely new Doblo 1.9 JTD 105 Active next week and we're soooo excited. OH is a taxi driver so we've picked this model to use as a taxi and a family car. Love all that boot space for the dog, fishing and camping gear. Got a couple of questions if thats all right??
Where can we get the plastic boot liner?
Is there a dog guard designed for the Doblo?
I take it all you Doblo owners think we've made the right choice?

Thanks in advance - though you'll probably be sick of me and my questions shortly;)

From Reg Vardy. We're taking our 22 year old daughter on Thursday to see if we can get her something nice and safe to drive - she's written off two already, a Suzuki Swift and a Fiesta!!! Want her surrounded with airbags now lol

Hello and welcome to the forum :D

Don't worry about asking too many questions cause that's what the forum's here for! We all have a laugh, I get picked on a lot by the others (Cause I'm the youngest) ;) but it's all good fun!

As you'll probably see there are so many more Doblo's on the road nowadays so it shows just how good a car they are! I'm sure you'll enjoy it :) - They're so good they wanted one at the Welsh Motor Show :D

Ozzie

Do you not think the invite was for the comedy factor ? :p

After all I believe you'll be placed at the end of line of "hearses" (private ambulances)....

I would advise against having any rear window tints done as it will look more convincing , all the OLD people will be docking there caps as you pass by... LOL :worship:

I bet they'll get cold heads.......... it takes Ozzie a long time to pass anywhere at his normal speed.

Only joking Ozzie...........

PS. Are you still getting 95mpg? :p :p

:D yes i have new 1.3 multijet family i also have six children and a folding camper and it pulls like a steam train![ slight exagg] i know but very very good and i might add very quiet on start-up and when up to temp whilst i am here acouple of questions me thinks! first off does anybody know size of standard speakers as i have just got my new head unit fitted a sony which is very coool and also this means i have a virtually new radio cassette player 4x 40 watts for sale and 4 brand new pirreli steel wheels and tyres drove home from garage done about 7 miles anyone interested email me make me a offer! [email protected] ps-will get pics of alloys hopefully today on site:) :) :)

Sizes of standard speakers are as follows:

Front Dash Mounted Speakers: 100mm
Front Door Mounted Speakers: 165mm
Rear Window Shelf Speakers: 95x154mm

Let me know how you get on with that, as I just added a subwoofer and left those as standard and the system still sounds really good :)

Good(y) just felt it was (obviously) lacking compared to 1.9 but the 1.3 is good engine should be up to the job.

Changing the rear speakers is awkward (especially if extra rear seats fitted) good luck.

Hi, I'm a new owner of an older Dobbin - 2003 1.9 JTD ELX (reversing sensors and it says ABS!) I'm looking at doing a bit of a camper van fit out too - I like this one for the kangoo: http://www.kangoo4x4.com/kangoocamper.htm (you don't have to take the lady with it)

But I'll keep the rear seats, put a box in behind and make boards up so that they rest on the back of the folded seats - perhaps with some rails or supports that I'll clip onto the front seatbelt mounts.

If anyone else has done this I'd be interested - there are a few german and dutch kangoo sites, and a few people who do full conversions, but I want something that will just lift in and out so that its not a modification for the insurance.

Cheers!

Hello Reggie welcome to the forum! Nearly missed welcoming you since you didn't make a new post all for yourself :p

I'm sure your 'temporary' conversion will be great, and many people will benifit from it so don't forget to make a post about it when you get it done ;)

We bought a kit similar to the one mentioned from Germany. http://translate.google.com/transla...o+box&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLC,GGLC:1970-01,GGLC:en
Hopefully the translation will stick with the link.

We bought it primarily to lift the boot floor to carry two Rough Collie dogs. It's perfect for the job. Although we haven't tested the double bed part.
The kit we bought was for the plans and all metal fittings etc. You supply your own wood. We got a joiner friend to do this.
It expands the available carrying capacity greatly, as well as still having the dog space up top.

The link for the original German site is http://www.dielectric.de/

Thanks for the welcome Ozzie, and thanks George for the link - its an exact copy of what I've roughed out on paper, except mine won't fold up and make tables etc - rather I want something a bit more rigid that I can stow pumped water and a camping stove into, and use as a bed.

Anyhow, we're off for our final holiday in our 1997 Vito 113 Campervan, so when we get back I'll be buying wood and selling the (poor quality :( ) Mercedes and doing the mini-conversion. I'll take photos when its done and post them up.

If it goes really well who knows - perhaps I'll make the kits up and sell them on the 'net...
