Hi ,
any one managed to test the max speed of the doblo 1.9jtd?
102mph as claimed ?

Yeah it'll do a ton easy, did it on a test drive of a 2002 1.9 JTD. Would do more as well quite easily but had to watch out for police and such  however, just make sure you slow down before you hit a bend! ;)

having pretty much the same situation here.
only managed to brought it up to 100mph so far

was wondering if anyone managed to get it higher that 105 as mentioned on the specs

My JTD showed 115mph on the level according to the speedo - but not recommended as it was windy and car isnt too stable...- only did it the once and scared myself!.

Im sure my speedo is way out anyway (as per 2 different sat navs and by being over taken by every tom dick and harry while im doing 70 mph)

Yeah!! Must check ours against the GPS sometime, never thought to do it yet!!

thanks for the input
what rims and rubber are you on ?

Clocked 116 this morning on, eer, a private road officer! I really cannot see where people get the instability from, I find our Dobby rather good, for a van with windows!:slayer:

I would agree about the handling, I find mine very precise and secure on the road. When I was doing the head gasket I was using a VW Passat which felt horrible compared to the Doblo. It does catch the wind a bit but you are bound to get that with a tall, fairly light car.:)

I had the family doblo up to the 100 mark today... In all honesty it felt rock steady. Once its sitting at 90 its very stable and it easily hits 100 from that point. I really upset someone in a Range Rover actually... uphill (ouch for him)
I over took a van in front of him.... foot down... 100 dead on up the hill range rover only just catching up again as i slowed down after passing the van.

I love the doblo!

Just wondered if the fact i had the rear seats folded flat and only half a tank of diesel added another 50hp!

Anyway those who question the stability of the car? what tyre pressures do you use? We always run ours with the presures intended for load carrying and it means that the handling is consistant.

One thing, the old tonne does'nt half affect the fuel economy! It was dropping as i drove.... literally plumetting. Lowest it went was 47. Normally round the 55mpg mark.

Remember boys and girls that speeding is'nt really big or clever! haha!:bang:

Lucky for you! Mine only shows 39mpg on the trip computer and that's very light driving with hardly any right foot! Not been above 39mpg yet since I've had it this past week! I'm hoping it's going to improve! :)

I've had an indicated 120mph. Was very shaky. That was on the M5 heading north just past Taunton I think. The Doblo will cruise at 110mph all day. They make me happy. :) Although, I got caught speeding (88mph) for the first time recently so I've slowed down a bit now hehe. :p

just an update. :)

BMC CDA coupled with a remap from angel tuning.(y)

i managed to bring it up to 125mph, the max on my speedo.. ( 200km/h)

any further will have be recorder by a gps device.

Hmmmm....

What speed rating are your tyres?

.

Hey Ming,

Just looked at the rest of your photos - very nice indeed. The headlining is very impressive. How about posting some pictures showing the lights working etc. ?

.

I also had a Doblo ELX up to 120mph on the M5. Some idiot thought it would be funny to drive up my arse up hill! Showed him. My Doblo SX has only been up to 110 (then the red engine light came on  )!

105 MPH in Germany ( on the speedo) with a 2002 JTD.
Only for a few seconds as all I could think about were those skinny tyres :D
