So I own a nice little doblo made in the distant 2002. It has the 1.9D engine which has been working decent until two weeks ago. I don’t know almost anything about it before it fell into my hands. I wouldn’t write this just to show off my black teapot and tell you how good it works so let’s cut to the chase. It all started when my starter went bad (how convenient right?) I changed it tough and when I changed it I bought a hand pump to pump the diesel into the engine If it has troubles starting and as it always happens it started having trouble starting. The first time it started after a few pumps I turned it around, left it to run for a little bit and when i tried to start it again it was turning over but it didn’t start. I got it to run again but then the third time it was over. Nothing. You turn the key over glow plug lights go out you try to start it and it doesn’t. The only unusual thing is the fact when you remove and put the battery back on it shows how much fuel there is but when you try to start it and fail of course, it shows there isn’t any fuel and the fuel light lits up. The check engine turns on for a few seconds and then it disappears. I’ve hooked it to an obd2 it showed zero faults so I have no idea what’s going on. There’s enough juice in the battery so what’s left, any suggestions? Fuel pump, the valve or whatever it is under the hood? Throw it into a ditch?

Faulty battery -ve cable?
Try a jump lead from battery negative to clean metal on engine
Plus a second jump lead from clean metal on engine to a clean metal point on the vehicle body.

Tanks half full so I don’t think it needs more but I will try the cables. Anything else would indeed be appreciated.
