Technical 5th gear

Im finding it increasingly difficult to select 5th gear and needs a bit of pushing to engage it. The gearbox was replaced last year after my clutch exploded so should think that is not the problem. Is here any adjustments possible to the gear change cables or worn bushes in the linkage that i could investigate. the dobbo is a 2007 1.4 petrol

Easy test:

Go through the gears while parked..

Engine OFF

Then Engine ON

let us know what you find

Ok when engine is off not so easy when engine running

Obviously the cables are set

What gearbox 'repair' did you get ?

I got a reconditioned box with years guarantee

My suspicion is Clutch..

As it changes gear fine without the motor spinning


Can you get the garage who fitted the parts to have a 2 minute look ?
