Are blocked DPFs less likely in vans with multijet engines ?

Iím looking to buy a new van due to the clean air zone thatís been introduced where I live and am considering a Doblo XL 1.6L. Someone told me that diesel particulate filters on vehicles with multijet engines are less likely to block than with other vans. And I wondered if anyone else is able to confirm this? I do mainly short trips in the city centre where I live, and petrol vans arenít an option as the ones on the market donít provide enough cargo space for me. My knowledge of mechanics is zero so Iíd really appreciate any advice !

Short trips will kill most DPF engined cars....but repeated short runs where the engine doesn't cool down much are tolerable.
In a previous life, my Dobby (1.6 MJ) did lots of short trips throughout the day without a problem, but three or four days just doing 5 or 6 miles would throw up the DPF light.
An "Italian tune up" sorted it, but that may not be practical in a city.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Wow, I had no idea that tbe warning light could come on that quickly. I thought youíd have to do 100-200 miles before it started to try burning off the fuel. I probably only do 3-9 miles a day at an average of 20-35mph, and only drive on A roads once every 3-4 weeks, so Iím worried now that Iím going to have problems. Though reassuring to know that driving it at speed when the warning light came on worked for you - how long did you have your Doblo for?

Still got it!
Bought for our Charity to ferry old and disabled folk around town and hospitals.
2011 model, bought in 2012. Run like this for around 3 years then came into my private ownership with more normal driving pattern.

For your application it might be more viable to find an LPG Doblo. Not that common but they do exist.
