Hello from Spain, hope you and yours are healthy!!!
I have a doblo cargo combi 263 1.6 105cv 2012
After 200.000km dashboard show me check engine light. I unmounted egr and butterfly to clean them. I deleted check engine light with alfa obd2 Bluetooth.
After some months again check engine light and alfa obd show me following errors P0490 P0487. I think then, it could be an eléctric problem on the egr. I think would be better to mount a new egr. Whats is your opinion or experencie.
On the other hand as blue & me unit got dead I mounted a tablet on the dashboard.

Those codes do seem to point to a failed EGR or a wiring fault to the EGR.

One code is complaining it cannot detect a difference in resistance from the valve when it thinks the EGR's valve position should change.

The other is complaining it's cannot detect a difference in manifold inlet pressure when the valve should be open or closed.

So you'd presume the EGR is either not working or cannot work due to a wiring fault.


There is some more infomation on the Blue & Me unit on some of the other model forums.
They can fail and cause the battery to drain. it's worth searching in the 500 section.
 
Thanks for the info codes. I bougth a new egr, I will replace the old one.
 
After replacing the egr by a new one I got the same problems, p0487 and p0490. I deleted them with alfaobd, but they appear again and later the advice light on the dashboard. So, I don't know what to do know.
If you have any idea it would be very welcome.

After one year again P0487.
When I replaced the valve last year I had to say to alfaobd "egr replaced"
So, the new valve was working ok for only one year.
I umounted the tube and I cleaned, see attached picture with lot of dirty. I thought maybe that was the problem now, but not, the p0487 was still there

When checking the valve with alfaobd message I got is "blocked valve". I don't know if is blocked as open or as closed.
The engine is working well as usual, I can't see any difference.
I think egr, bought at Amazon, was not enough good, or wiring is damaged.
So, I think I will install the blanking plate on the tube and forget the valve.
egr removing by software costs here in Spain 180€, same as a new good valve.
As my doblo will be 10 years on july I will have to pass the V.T.I every 6 months.
Any comment will be very appreciate.
Doblo is now 240.000km

Hello again
I took off the egr, see attached pictures, it looked blocked. So I mounted the original and old one, I cleaned it time ago.
Of course I disconected the battery before. I took alfaobd and clicked on "egr valve replacement".
I drove some meters and check engine light with P0488. I deleted p0488 and drove again and failsafe mode!!!
I turned off and turned on again and same problem p0488 and a new failsafe.
Turned off and click again on "egr valve replacement" on alfaobd. I drove for 6km on everything looks ok. Checked again alfaobd and not errors were detected.
Hope tomorrow not any P0487 P0487 or p0490!!!

P0487 and P0490 again. Engine runing not fine at low rpm.
So finally I mounted the blank plate and engine runs fine and better.
Of course light advise on the dashboard.
I wonder if necessary to remap ecu or I can drive like this forever. As I have always connected elm obd2 I can delete that advise when V.T.I. with alfaobd with my phone.
Your suggestions will be very appreciate.

Hello again
After some limp mode I did a egr-off in the ecu.
Engine runed well and not dtcs, but a new limp mode came after two weeks.
Not any dtc on ecu scan fiat!
Now again runing well.
I don't know what caused that limp mode.
Maybe I should disconect battery for a ecu reset or unplug the egr valve.
