Doblo Maxi van side door

I've just bought a secondhand ex. Utility Doblo maxi van but the driver's side sliding door seems to have been disabled as it won't open. The other side sliding door and the rear doors have additional high security locks fitted. So I'm guessing that because the driver's side door does not have the high security lock, it's not meant to open. Also the racking inside covers the door. Other similar vans for sale have the same lock arrangment. Any thoughts on how it maybe disabled? Central locking wiring disconnected on that site? Mechanically disconnected? Many thanks. Graham.
