Hi, guys. Have a problem with my little van. Engine starts then cuts out after a few seconds, EML is on , scanned with smartphone and Bluetooth adapter , says DTC p4088, which when googled it means something related to EGR valve.

I've had this van for a year now, 2012year, 1.3 diesel , 128K mileage. It always takes a bit longer to start engine comparing to other diesel that I had before, but started anyway. Suspected glow plugs problems, coil light was flashes after start, changed them yesterday, coil stopped flashing.
But now it would not run at all. But 2 days ago in the morning engine started but felt like was out to stall but somehow it did not and was ok during the day.
So is it EGR problem or something else, I could find any guide how to remove it and clane, plenty for earlier doblo versions but not this one.

Please help, have to fix by tomorrow.

See posts in Fiorino section ;)

How is the DPF..

DOES it regen properly..?

Are all the set.up configurations done properly after the oil and filter changes..

So..

Do you have a test meter.. or bulb..?

Be good to confirm you have power to your new plugs ;)

Thanks for reply .
Checked all glow plugs and power to them, all looks fine.

Do not know how to test DPF though... How should I do it?

So all DPF stuff is A1..

Counters for oil and congestion..

Should all be reset after an oil change.. or it just cannot run properly..

Thanks guys, don't know about the oil reset have not changed oil yet, actually was planing to do it this weekend. But have to sort engine stalling out first now. Still have not found instructions how to remove and clean EGR yet.

Ok

What was the CODE you found ?

Full description please

How many miles on engine :

Total.. and the year you have had it..

Could be throttle.. or EGR

Apparently EGR access is lousy.. then again so are glowplugs..

My earlier 1.3 is simpler

I posted all this info at the start of this thread in my first message

Update. Done it today. Took me about 4 hours to remove EGR , clean it and put it back. If I had to do it again, probably would fit in 2 hours.
It's very awkward to get there, it's right on the back of the engine. So EGR valve was stuck open and would not move at all, carb cleaner, WD40 helped a lot.
Lots of soot inside intake manifold as well. But that job for another day.

So after fitting everything back, started engine, was a little bit rough at first, smoking, but then was ok. Deleted DTC with scanner and have not got back yet.

I'm sorry for confusion, DTC was P0488, not P4088, my fault.
