Hey all.. I recently got a 2008 1.3 multijet Doblo no real service record ..so I guess taking a risk!. turned out the chain cover had a crack and had slight oil leak ..so changed that and the chain just in case. wouldn't start turned out it was the starter motor earth strap..at the same time the clutch fluid hose went!btw the glow plugs need changing otherwise all seems ok
My friend is constantly saying "what do you expect its a FIAT!" I'm getting a bit fed up with these comments!
What's your experience on reliability

Youve changed most of the engine service items there..

I bought 3 grandes with that engine.. they all run well

Plugs are ok.. see my info in GP section

Sounds like it might want a fuel filter too

What miles has it done?

Good move to swap the Chain

Reliable : My friends Golf GTD is having far more trouble at that miles.. and thats been well looked after

The dealer said the chain had been changed but couldn't say nhen..just that you could see the gasket..the mechanic who changed the cover said the chain was 50/50 but one would never know.
How easy is it to change the oil filter ,heard you need a special tool

Oil filter..
A 27mm spanner..or socket

Fuel filter.. easy on the car.. might be different on your van
