Doblo 1.9 JTD Dynamic 2005 (187,000 miles young)

Owned from new, the family Doblo has the need for replacement rear shock absorbers as the bushes had eventually given up. New Fiat parts were acquired ready to be fitted. Unfortunately the bottom mounting bolts have resisted all methods of removal and are permanently attached to axle on both sides. I suspect this dates back to the production line as there is no excess corrosion. It seems that the chance of an axle replacement from stock is all but non existent (not available from stock, and Fiat seem not to have a general stock (UK) database?) An attempt to source a 'second hand' replacement has been disappointing only to receive a mutant dud from the supplier.


Would anyone be able to suggest a reputable source for the part so as to put the car back on the road. The Doblo is sound and in too good a condition to meet its end just yet . . . not too mention the possibility of paying rent on the sympathetic dealers ramps !

Hi there , and thanks for reply. Although local agent supportive, parts can't be found. There are a few yards around but fear they wont be much better than the one I've got to send back. Family member has an excellent identical 04 plate but still driving it daily !!

Hi All


Thanks for the suggestions, however 'going off into the sunset' with my Doblo is not going to happen. Unable to secure a safe and usable part we have had to part company. It isn't what we wanted but its a sad case of parts not being available to extend its life . . .


The fates have taken a hand and I now have an extremely low millage Tipo (9000 miles) Station wagon in almost the same colour blue. 187,000 miles ? Nah I doubt it, but its worth a try !
