I went to start my doblo yesterday, but had no luck. Ignition lights came on as normal but it wouldn’t fire up. Assuming it just needed jumping, I attached my jump pack, and tried again. It still didn’t work and didn’t sound like the starter cranking at all. Knowing next to nothing about cars, I looked up my problems and concluded maybe the starter motor needed a knock to at least get it going so I can take to a garage. So today I put the keys in and switch the ignition on, everything comes on, lights, radio, wipers so I go to start it, nothing. Then when I turn the ignition on the 2nd time, the lights start to flicker and the needles jump up and down as if the electrics are flicking on and off. So I connect up the jump pack again, which seems to give enough juice for the lights to come on and the system check to start...when I do this I now get EBD failure and ABS failure appear. Without the charge pack connected it goes back to just flickering. So after looking on this forum it seems a likely issue could be down to the connection and cleanliness of the earth and other cables? Or is something bigger at play here.
Asking for general advice, but also attaching a photo in the hopes someone can direct me where to look and try scrubbing?

Hi :)

Running a 'new' additional cable.. following the line..and bolt points of the current black battery negative to body and gearbox will do no harm ;)

Is the starter turning engine at all??

Is the glowplug light on dash behaving normally..??

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

When connected to the jump pack, the glow plug light seems normal. Starter doesn’t seem to be doing anything...I just get a tick tick tick when I turn the key.
