I've a Fiat Doblo Cargo Van that has had an alternator repair recently and since then the Blue & Me doesn't work and the mileage is flashing. From searching on here I think it needs a proxy alignment however our local Fiat dealership wants £90 plus vat to run the diagnostic and then depending on what needs to be done they've said there will be a further charge. Is this something that I could do myself if I obtained the relevant software and leads at all and if so is it a simple job?

Very simple job using MultiECUScan, but for the software alone £50, and then add the relevant cables on top (I'm assuming you have a windows laptop too, otherwise factor that into the costs).
There is a register of members who have MES who could do the reset for you, so have a look and see who is local and send them a message :)

Thanks, I might just get the software and then I’ve got it for future problems. I’m a little bit confused as to which interface to get, I can see that I need ELM327 but there are a number of different versions, is there one that is recommended over the others?

i bought an interface like this one: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Interface-AutoDia-fuer-Fiat-Alfa-Romeo-Lancia-OBD-2-Diagnose-OBD2-Tester-USB-/152596959601?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10. It is a German ebay offer but i'm sure you'll find the UK version by just searching on ebay.co.uk.
The software i use has been provided on an UK site i managed to find after a week's searching about three years ago. The link i found there was dead at that time but using archive.org i managed to find an earlier version of that site on which it was valid.
The Multiecuscan version i got from there is not the newest one but it works on my 223. I'm using a computer which is running on Windows 7 32 for car diagnosis purposes.
