Pretty sure the battery on van is wrong. Have new relay plugs and garage reckons battery sound. But since new plugs etc. Still struggles on cold start. Kick over 3/4 times for 5 secs each time at most and battery goes flat.
It's fitted with - battery 50ah 250a
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
I'll answer my own question after speaking to a battery supplier. For the benefit of anyone searching this issue.
It is the wrong battery.
The figure 250a in OP is CCA rating (cold cranking amps) A higher rate is required for diesel engine. In this situation should be looking at a battery 60AH 450a (CCA)

That 50A is tiny..
Probably ok in the summer..

But glowplugs and cold.. big loads
