My 2009 Doblo is suffering from droop - nothing unusual, my two earlier Dobbies had the same problem at this age. It's the gas struts for the tailgate I'm talking about, what else?!
This only causes a problem in the colder winter months, but it's a frequent cause of bumped heads, and I very nearly walked straight into the drooping bottom edge of the tailgate in the dark the other afternoon.

So - the question - as this seems to be a feature of the model, I don't think it would be sensible to replace the struts with the same specification, as the issue will surely be repeated.

Has anyone replaced them with stronger struts which succeed in keeping the tailgate proud and erect, and away from their head? If so, what spec., and where did you get them from?

Mine did this towards the end of yr 2 & I insisted Perrys replace them under warranty. At first they messed me around but I fired off an email to Fiat. The replacements were OK for a couple of years then struggled in the colder weather - by this time, it was beyond the 3 yr warranty. I looked at the details on the struts & did a google search. The same company did a more powerful version, same length, their website had a handy table showing strut length and power/extension so it was easy to simply buy a more uprated version.
Now, you lift the tailgate & move back quickly else it'll have you. I also find I get a bit of a workout when trying to shut the tail.
On the plus side, these have been in for 10yrs with no other problems.

Same here, same here (replacement heavy lifting struts and the like)
