hi, I'm new to forums and to this one
Doblo EGR plated by roadside mechanic, engine ran so well, on the way home got flashed on "Smart" M way!!
what do you suggest I do now? Engine management light came on after 250 m drive, New EGR fitted at Easter - yet 5,000 miles later vehicle went into limp mode, hairy on these motorways without hard shoulders.
What about terraclean? costs £175, video looks good, is it worth it?
This is a Doblo 1.9 Jtd WAV with 90k - I carry my mums wheelchair in it, and her, I dont want this to happen again - we were on our way to her brothers funeral and got there with only 20 minutes to spare.
Any FAQs or Guides on this site? spent an hour looking before I posted this

Corsa and punto are mainly 1.3's..

But the bigger motors are found in

SAAB and the other GM vehicles with these FIAT motors.

Do you use the vehicle enough to get it HOT on a regular basis ?

If by "plated" you mean blanked off, Then I suggest you get the blank replaced with a restrictor plate. This is plate with one or more holes in it. I has a number of effects but seems to work. There is an official Fiat modification to fit one to the 1.9 16V mJTD.
Apart from being illegal, a total blank will cause a malfunction light.

yes I do 15,000 miles a year and flog it up and down hills around Scotland carrying my eBike inside

This was a brand new EGR fitted 5000 miles ago - so effectively clean as a whistlle, have used Forte injection cleaner as starting is a bit sluggish and a tankful of the fancy diesel plus fuel every 2000 miles or so

Will fit a modified restrictor plate as Management light is still on. (Thank you)

A basket full of soot came out of the exhaust on start up with the single plate fitted on the n/s of the EGR

I cant be doing this every 5000 miles! surely there is a better way?
