Hi all

I've been looking at a Doblo Cargo as a work and weekend vehicle.

Does anybody know definitively if its possible to fit a double passenger seat giving three seats across the front? I appreciate the Doblo isn't as wide as a Talento or Ducato, or even as wide as the older Scudo. And I've searched threads on here where people have asked the same question and been told it isn't possible or the option doesn't exist.

But...

The current Doblo Cargo brochure from fiatprofessional shows a three seat Doblo. It looks like they've refreshed the interior and dash, but it still has the gear shift very close to the seat.

I've also seen the same setup on a German car seat cover site.

Has anybody got, or seen, a Doblo with this option? Or know if it can be retrofitted?

Many thanks,
Simon

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, the Doblo was never designed to have a bench seat in the front. Left or Right hand drive (mine is left, imported to the UK from Spain) the shifter is dead center of the vehicle.

Having said that, it might be possible to retro fit a doblo with say a Vauxhaul or VW bench. But you'd never be able to have someone sit there without there legs pinned against the shift housing, making the whole idea very dangerous.

In my case, 1.9 Doblo JTD ELX with two front and a rear 3 seat bench, I've added a back bend that can seat two. The seven seat conversion. That seat is almost never in the vehicle. I only put it in when I need to ferry people around. Bought the seat and seatbelts on ebay. Had to custom fit mounting hardware but it works great. Not sure of the legal on this mod for insurance or even DVLA. I like to live on the edge! :D

I can’t answer your question. However I can say that having driven a Berlingo once with a double passenger seat I can say that its very likely that the centre seat would be narrow and most likely only be suitable for a small child.

Given that PSA offer a double seat as an option on the Berlingo/Partner/Combo it wouldn’t suprise me if Fiat haven’t followed suit with the Doblo. If you retro fit one you would have to inform both your insurer of the modification (who may be awkward about it) and the DVLA. When informing the DVLA I would suggest i sending a covering letter and photographs of the conversion and all four sides of the vehicle as they may ask for it if you don’t include them.

I'm pretty certain I read previously that the Doblo is available with a double passenger seat exclusively in LHD.
Those stock images would seem to support that.
