I’m looking to replace the brakelight switch on my 1.6 multijet doblo van from 2012. Can anyone tell me where they are found and what I’m looking for. The brake lights stay on until I raise the pedal slightly with my foot and then they go out.

Itll be under the dash..fixed to the pedal assembly..

As the car is designed as LHD

the switch does not force the pedal back to rest. There is a tensioner spring that does this. If yer not careful, it can be kicked and knocked out of adjustment, making the light stay on.

The brake light switch is a simple on or off. Is the pedal pressed or not. In your case, the spring isn't pulling the pedal fully back to rest (off). Your mechanic will spend 30 seconds with a wrench and screwdriver to fix it. Might also squirt some WD40 on the mechanism.
