We've just got a nasty scratch on the driver's door mirror of our Doblo. The tough black plastic edge is untouched! - but the shiny Teseo Blue insert is scratched. Does anyone know if/ how this painted strip can be removed for easier repainting or replacement with a scrap unit?

Thanks.

You are probably right - but it is too dark when I get home to check if it is one piece! Anyone know if it is easy to remove the whole mirror casing?

hi, the painted section will just lever of, just had to replace my mirror after minor prang, how's your doblo on fuel my jtd averages 38mpg:(

you should be getting more mpg than that mate. Get about 55mpg to 60mpg in mine at min. Are you very heavy with the right foot?

Thanks for mirror info. Our doblo 1.9 JTD does 45 mpg in general use. On a 40 mile journey in no hurry with few traffic lights I can average 60mpg. Occasionally I get 70mpg for a few miles; I have never quite hit an estimated 1000 mile range though.

:bang: pointless complaining about mpg if i've got a heavy right foot!, never more than 60mph on A roads 420 mls = 50ltr, always drivin' for economy, best ever 44mpg worst ever 32mpg (was "trying for >30mpg" ) 2 dealers can't find a fault, any ideas what could be wrong? van is a year old with 12k mls, runs about 1/2 loaded, 50% A roads 50% urban

standard wheels and tyres (to cold to check sizes) running about 32psi, front tyres lasted 8.5k

If the warranty is still valid I would take it back to the dealers and tell them to take you out in it and get the quoted MPG what it says in the hand book. If they can not get it to run to a fair mpg then they should do something about it.

your tire ware to me seems to suggest that the wheels are toed-in, this will increase the tyre ware and decrease MPG. ask you dealer to check the alignment. Some manufacturers (toyota and ford in particular) set the cars up with a toed in setting for handeling (anybody whoes ever owned an escort will know they eat front tyres).

I never let you know the outcome of the door mirror problem. The painted part IS an insert. It is held on by about 8 small plastic projections which stick into the main mirror housing. To remove, insert a fine bade between insert and black outer moulding (underneath is a good place where marks won't show. Lever the two apart; then insert a screwdriver and lever until the whole thing pings off. Find a dustpan and brush to sweep up all the plastic lugs you have just broken.... (may work better in warm weather). Then paint and replace with the aid of a plastic mastic gun!
