Dear Community,
I have a fiat doblo 2004. Recently the headlights wouldn't turn off, they remained on even with he ignition out. So I disconnect the battery to stop it draining.
The MOT is due at the beginning of next month and won't pass as it is.
After a bit of research I identified two possible sources;
i. A fault with the cluster behind the steering wheel. The one that contains the indicator stalks.
ii. A faulty relay.
I decided to take the cluster out and give it a clean. After reassembling the headlights turned off but then the windscreen washer pump was always on and the horn activated when operating the windscreen wiper speeds. So I bought a used cluster off eBay and fitted that. Back the original problem of headlights not turning off but with no additional problems.
I've deduced that either the used part has the same fault and I need to buy a new cluster to eliminate this. Or I'm barking up the wrong tree. If its simply a case of replacing a faulty relay I'd be grateful for guidance on where I can locate this.
Or perhaps it's something else?
Some advice or direction to a great fiat electrical mechanic would be fantastic.
I'm really keen to get the doblo back on the road in passable MOT condition.
Many Thanks,
Mark
