Hi,
After 3 and a half years and 70k miles in my ownership my 58plate Doblo (1.9 MJ 105 BHP) has gone over the 100k miles mark and still going strong but as I average 20k miles per year its time to start thinking of replacement.


Can anyone tell me how the newer shape model compares with the older model?


I have been very pleased with this one. Its never broken down and the repairs/servicing have been reasonable
too (needed new battery, both rear dampers, both front wishbones and I had the cambelt and water pump done as per schedule)


I'm also considering Berlingo and others but budget is tight!

Hi, I have a 2012 "263" Doblo and although I am quite pleased with it I think the older model was a better car in many respects. Firstly, if I'm correct your car has not got a DPF on it, (which is something vehicle licence may catch up with) and that is a bonus for simplicity of operation and no need for most of the plug in maintenance required. The newer model does drive better & quieter with a six speed box, but it if no better if not worse on fuel. This came as a surprise to me, slippery shape, 6 gears with a higher gear ratio.
There are also issues with suspension on the newer models, for which I have only had trouble with rear shock absorbers so far.
Maybe hang on to yours a bit longer until the tax man makes up his mind? ?

Thanks for reply. Yes I specifically searched for a 105bhp model as it didn't have DPF but whatever I go for next will probably have one unless I go petrol of course.

Yes, I may have to just do that.. problem is with the amount of miles I do i'll have to budget for New Clutch and DMF and possible turbo before long I think.

Apparently within the trade your engine is known as moon & back safe, so maybe think about things in another 100k? ?
