Hi all

I have a 2003 Fiat doblo Cargo and the door wont open when i pull the handle.

I have crawled through the back and took the back panel off and noticed that the rods are still attached to the round mechanism but the bolt going through the middle has fallen out leaving it flapping about so the handle catch wont locate.

Does anybody know what size the bolt is that I need?

Check for the original one, in the bottom of door well, it must be there somewhere.

Ade:wave:

It is in there somewhere  found with magnet, mirror & bright torch had it on both of ours, use locktite on re fit.

You have opened the door & removed card to gain Full access

Hi

Yes i have taken the panel off to gain access and yesterday found the bolt.

It is wedges right at the mottom of the door fold and I am unable to get it with my hand and tried with a magnet too.

The bolt in question is the one that goes through the back of the lock barrel if anybody knows what size and length?

Make a stiff wire hook move\free bolt & grab with magnet

Hi Guys ...i'm right on this issue...i have my flexible camera probe and magnet looking for this sucker ! ....just ordered an M4 the screw 10mm long with a hex head (similar to the ones holding the door lever assembly)...thinking that an allen key will have room to screw it it . Somewhere ...as 500e said ...the original screw is there !

***UPDATE***

I gace up trying to get the bolt out from the inside of the door so decided to remove the pull rods and take the dorr handle out to have a look.

Turns out the bolt holding the door handle on the right hand side is the exact same size that i needed to go into the back of the lock.

I had an old handle in the back and it had the bolt i needed so put it in and connected all back together and its working fine.

Took me 15 minutes from start to finish and should have just done that from the start

I have the same problem, but the bolt in the doorhandle can't get out, it's stuk, even the garage couldn't get it out.
What shall i do about that, it's a bolt without a head to screw it.

I don't know why the doorhandle doesn't work from the outside, inside is working fine also the electric lock.

The bolt is an anti theft device the hex part breaks off to stop people removing it but why inside the door:bang: if it was on the outside of the door I could understand, had to drill one out to get handle off BUT is the mechanism free there is a sliding bar with a light spring that gets sticky spray the lot with break cleaner & move all the little bits, door locks are only just about good enough when new, every Doblo we have had (3) have had lock problems the rear doors the worst

Found my problem, not the screw inside the door of the lock but the spring of the lock hook was dry as the desert can be, put a lot of lubricant on it and move it a little bit and it's working again as new.
