Hi, I have a Doblo 1.9 SX JTD Van, it's a 2003 model which I have had since new and has 97,000 miles on the clock. The last time I drove it, I broke down. I was stuck in traffic, but I noticed there was smoke coming from under the van which could have been an oil leak. Once I was moving there was a clicking noise coming from under the van which increased with speed. I was only a short distance from home, so I carried on (about a mile) As I slowed down for a roundabout the engine cut out with the red engine light on. I checked the oil level which was down a bit, but there was still oil on the stick. I tried to start it but it wouldn't start again. I got a tow home and tried to start it again the next day. It wouldn't start and I checked if there were any engine codes when I used my code reader. There were no codes, so what could it be? Thanks in advance for any help advice you can give me.

Yes there is half a tank of diesel

Check fuses , particular fuel pump fuse.
Have a around exhaust pipes to make sure no wires or tubes burned.
When cranked over on starter does it sound normal?

Did you use a code reader like multiecuscan to see what fault/faults are there?

Hi there due to the heavy snow I haven't been able to check the fuses or get under the van, I use a streetwise code reader on the van which stated on codes

hi,

weird to have a speed related sound.. but could be unrelated.. ( cold weather)

when you turn the ign key ON,
see what lights come on.. then go off in @5 seconds.

glow plugs.. curly wire = YELLOW

battery and oil should stay lit = RED


do it again..Listen for a whirring sound.. fuel pump in rear tank

did the key symbol go ON..then OFF - Immobiliser = YELLOW..


without these key things it's not going to fire and run.
