It seems to be very common for the Doblo's sliding door handle to break away at the front, especially when the door has been frozen. Both my 2009 Doblo, and my son's 2008 version have suffered this recently, coincidentally on the offside.
Replacements seem to be expensive (£120+VAT for a genuine part). However, my garage felt there was a cheap and simple repair alternative. They drilled through the plastic disc where the key barrel would be, (if there were a lock), and bolted the handle to the inner door panel with a coachbolt. They finished it with sikaflex, and I have now topped the bolt with a plastic domed cover, (M8, 13mm, bought on ebay for £1.99 for a pack of 8), also sikaflexed in place. Totally sturdy, and will never pull away again.
Photo herewith, before capping the bolt. (Hope I've been successful in adding the pic!)
