OK you Doblo'ers I need to ask you a question. When I start my 1.3 multijet I find that I have trouble selecting gear when the engine is cold - This is especially true for second and third gear (the dog leg). Once the engine is warm it's normally fine.

Do you guys find this? Is this a feature of this model or does it have to go back for FIAT to look at the gear linkeage?

Hi

I've a 1.3 multijet family, 2005- 9000 miles, I've had no problem with the gear change, my advice if its under warranty--- take it back, if its a stiff gear change then it will be more than obvious to "some" mechanics, there's a problem............:D

Just an update on this. Took it to my dealer who changed the oil. Still had problems with the gearchange so they decided it needed to be repaired - however the cost would be the same as replacing the gearbox so one was ordered. Had to come from Italy so took awhile. It's being installed on the 7th. I hate driving a sick Doblo:mad:

Further, further update the gearbox was replaced under warranty. No questions asked. Excellent service on the part of Cleveland Cars in Aldershot.(y)

The car is running sweeter than it ever has done with a nice crisp gearchange, it's a real pleasure to drive. And am I ever glad to have it back after three days with a Punto....nothing wrong with the Punto, it's just a bit cramped after the Doblo.

We're glad you've now sorted your problem and had good service from a dealership, you must be one of the lucky ones as many people tend to have problems with them :) back to the doblo now then ;)
