Is the wastegate on the turbo opening?

It's a common issue that the wastegate gets carboned up, the actuator just hasn't the strength to over come it, so it sticks closed.

Now when boost builds the wastegate should open but doesn't, so it detects an overboost and trips into limp and limits power.

They tend to do this when accelerating or under heavy load.
They get to the same point nearly every time, then trip.
Restarting clears it until that point is reached again and it starts all over again.

You can work the wastegate arm, manually yourself to free it off with a long bar or screwdriver, but it isn't the easiest thing to reach and they are usually quite stiff.

With a bit of searching, you might find some guides, The Corsa D 1.3 CDTi used the same engine, so that might throw up some images.
