Hello,

I own a Fiat Doblo 1.3 MJ 2006, and its properly maintained every year. This year i had problems with overheating...
The first problem occured when the hose connecting the radiator to the water pump exploded...
I fix the fuel hose, bought a new one.. problem was solved and i tought im safe on the road....
The second overheating problem occured yesterday, all the water was gone and i had no idea what happened.. The hoses were all okay I got towed and the service told me that my water pump was damaged and they put new one...
I was wondering... Could this be a pressure problem? Something that keeps destroying my hoses and pumps?

Please help.

Water pumps should be changed with cam belts I have also had one fail after changing 4\5K miles we think belt was to tight & stressed pump bearing.
On another we had the pump weep & the first thing noticed was heater did not get very hot , no warning lights came on

Hi,

If you suspect pressure problem, I'd look closely at your expansion bottle CAP.

The system works on it being pressurized. The cap is the release device if pressure

exceeds a certain value. If cap is faulty, pressure is exceeded resulting blown hoses.

And just maybe, damaging the fins on your water pump, and only removal of this unit

will confirm this I suspect.

John.

I changed the cap as u suggested. It was not working properly, it was stuck..... So i will drive and see the results these winter monts... if it does it again theres probably some diffrent problem.

Thanks for the info brother.
