300 seems about the right money.

It cost me 200+ for the sei and obviously the doblo is a bigger car with bigger windows so 300 seems a fair price to me.

I recommend you go to a professional place however and dont have it done at your home.

hi nottscharger..

i just payed 300 for all round tinting and it was in 2 days because the film had 2 cure before fitting the hinges and handles back, but i did get a courtosey car (y)

I paid £135 locally for everything (apart from windscreen and front windows), they had the car for 5 hours and I watched them take the windows out (apart from the back window), very professional job and a lifetime warranty! :)

i paid 200 for all windows bar windscreen tinted all fully guaranteed by bloke in burton on trent v good finish and done in about 3 hours ready to drive away :)

Be careful, tinting to the front windows to any degree is illegal as most cars after 1998 already have tinted windows, you can tell by the BS mark on the windows.

Also, anything darker than "Dark Smoke" on any of the rear windows (unless commercial) will not pass the police testers that some forces now carry in their cars.

Wasn't there a big fuss a few years back over the Galaxy? I think they had tinted glass as standard but they were failing MOTs or being pulled by police because the tint was too dark?

TBH, for the huge difference in cost, I'd go for the ebay shades - they do a great job & can be transferred across vehicles.

Is this a new rule Oz because as far as I know any tinting behind the driver can be as dark as you want.

Steve

you can have anything you like behind the driver, you are fine tinting fronts as long as there is a minimum of 35% light transmission on the front, i have been driving tinted vehicles for years never been pulled or failed mot, its the people who have limo all over that need to be pulled over!!!,

and btw i have 5% (limo) on the back and the sunshades off ebay in rear as well there v good quality!, i collected mine in person as there sold in derby!, i would recommend them to anybody!

Well that's what I thought and I did a bit of reading up on it... it's not illegal to fit anything as dark as you want behind the drivers windows, ie. people who do tinting are allowed to fit limo black etc. on the back.

However when I was chatting to the guy who did the tinting he said that the new police testers some motorway police carry round will not give a 'pass' if you have limo black on the rear windows, but your most likely to get away with it as it's not dangerous... but I had to sign a disclaimer if I wanted Limo Black that it was not his responsibility and I had been warned. So I went for the Dark Smoke.

As far as the front windows go, he looked at a chart and the BS mark on my front windows to get the 'already tinted' percentage, and even light smoke would push you a few % over the limit so again, I would have to sign a disclaimer. I left those as I didn't want them done anyway.

Put it this way, I believed he knew what he was talking about, the day mine was done there were another 8 - 9 cars booked in for tints alone, and every time I pass the garage is full with people having tinting and graphics done.

This is from VOSA, it doesn't state a limit for the rear window...

The legal limits for window tinting are a
minimum of:
● 70 per cent VLT for side windows
● 75 per cent VLT for windscreens on
vehicles first used after April 1985 and
70 per cent VLT for those first used prior
to that date.

Do you remember how they took out the sliding windows?

I’ve done the job on the rear and side rear windows (not 100% perfect but only costed me 5 € for the film) but had to stop at the sliding windows  because I didn’t have any idea of how they are put together. Is the rubber insulation one piece or is the inside apart from the one outside?
