I have a new shape doblo (2013) 1.6 multijet diesel that has covered 52000 miles. I have run it on Shell V-power diesel and changed the engine oil and filter between services. It has not been used for short runs and has been faultless until recently when the egr had to be replaced. This was done by a Fiat main dealer and involved a two week wait for the part. I was surprised that it failed and the dealer suggested that I need to let the engine rev higher before changing gears and to ignore the gear change indicator on the dash board. Anyway recently I have noticed a ticking noise when I start the car from cold which gradully reduces as the car warms up. Needless to say when I get to a garage it has gone so I will have to leave it overnight so they can investigate. I know it is a long shot but does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be or what I can check. My main concern is that it is an indication that something else is failing.
