my 57 plate doblo multijet has just let me down again !!


its done 45,000 miles and the rear box has just fallen off !!


on holiday as well in devon !!


had to tow my caravan back 110 miles with it like it as no one in the local area could get one the same day !!!


is this yet again a fiat thing ???


I would have expected it to last a lot longer than this ?

It could have happened to any vehicle .
Was it original 10 year old back box?
Did it fall completely off or break at a pipe?

looking at it im sure it was is the original exhaust.


it broke off just over the rear beam. so just back box fell off.


I used to have a 24 year old Toyota previa that had a complete new exhaust system fitted about 4 years ago.


so the original Toyota system had lasted 20 years and 100,000 miles.


guess the Italians don't expect their cars to last that long !

You should not compare it to a Toyota.
I'm not sure new model Toyota exhausts last 20 years any longer.
10 years is good life time.
If you buy an after market part 5 years is about average life.

If exhaust parted company from the car it is likely the mounting rubbers (one or more)
Failed or were lost some time previously and weren't replaced leading to exhaust breaking.

Mercedes-Benz used to be considered a long lasting car and that has changed considerably over the past 15 years.

I have just read your other threads.
It's only an exhaust back box.
Stop comparing to Toyota from 1994.
all manufacturers have changed over the past 23 years. Toyota have had some terrible problems recalling 100s of thousands of vehicles.
