Hi everyone, I've just finished trying to sort out some electrical problems to no avail and thought someone here might be able to help!

I have a single tailgate 2005 Doblo which has a few issues:
1. When I press the brake pedal the lights come on and the brake lights are constantly on
2. When I turn the rear wiper on I get no movement and screeching/buzzing coming from the stalk
3. The tailgate door central locking actuator shows no sign of life
4. The rear door does catch doesn't trigger an open door warning in the dash

I've read as much as I can on the forum and I have replaced the rear light bulbs making sure twin filaments where used where appropriate and that the rest are single filament.

I've also cleaned the earth points but nothing seems to have happened!

Has anyone had a similar problem before?

Update:
Changed the brake light switch based on other posts and that was not the culprit.

Noticed that if I remove the high level brake light bulb the light issue disappears, is this a shorting problem you think?

I had similar problems. On mine it was the cables between the tailgate and the body which are at the top lefthand corner of the tailgate. When I cut back the outer covering I found that some of the wires inside had broken and shorted against others. Caused by bending every time the tailgate is opened or closed. Hope this helps.

I owe you a beer.

I disconnected all the services in the boot and pulled out enough wiring to slide the boot above the area affected and soldered all the wires (added two layer of heat shrink for good measure). Everything works!

The condition of the wires was quite shocking, I've attached a picture.

Many many thanks!
