After market ECU for 2002 Doblo

A couple of weeks ago, my 2002 Fiat Doblo 1.9 JTD ELX died. Guys at the garage said the forward fuel pump wasn't getting fuel. After replacing the rear pump, still had the problem. After an ECU reset, everything went back to normal.

The mechanics told me a replacement (dealer) ECU would cost mega whompum and be prepared to scrap the the vehicle.

Thing is, bought it used for next to nothing. It still gets 70MPG. Drives and rides like a limo!

Is there an after market ECU available that I could put on? If so, where to get it and whom best to install?

Thanks for reading! :)

So it's still driving OK?
If so wait and see what happens. It could be an ECU problem but also they may have been correct in diagnosing a faulty lift pump but didn't reset a fault that it caused. The issue with an ECU swap is that it's coded to the security system so you need either a new or virginised ECU or change other parts as well.
If it's running OK now just wait and see how it goes.

Yes, it is running and running great.

Always good to plan for the worst, hope for the best.

I'd forgotten that an ECU change would require additional parts, or disabling factory features. Thanks for the reminder. The forward pump was removed, cleaned and tested. They didn't find anything wrong with it, but you know who that can change.

I've got no intention of doing anything until it's necessary. The main reason I asked was from watching to many car modification videos on YouTube. They seem to throw ECU's around like crazy, albeit for petrol vehicles. It was a thought.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
