Can anyone tell me where the unit is that controls the esp system.
A few months ago my ABS light came on and a test found a shorted coil inside the main pump. I have fitted a used ABS pump from a same model but my ESP light is on. Is this stability system controlled from the ABSUnit?

Thanks Ken

Not had a look at the Doblo system, but ESP or whatever each manufacturer calls it often uses the ABS to apply individual brakes to bring the car back into line.

I think I managed to activate mine once (can't think how!) and it was a strange feeling - I think I'd have preferred a good old-fashioned slide.

Assuming that the ESP light has been on since you fitted the replacement pump, did you get the ABS unit coded to the car?

Get MultiECUScan and see what codes are showing - it may be a yaw sensor that has gone (I had one go on my old BMW).

Thank you for your reply.
When my car had the abs fault I never noticed the ESP light or warning but after fitting the replacement ABS pump it now shows.
From recearch it seems ESP is an extra so I am thinking the replacement abs unit may not have it or at least have it programed. From Fiat a pump is about £1500.00 so no way was I spending that. I managed to find one from Italy with almost identical numbers .
Would it be normal to have a replacement pump coded to my vehicle?
Regards Ken
