Apologies if this has been discussed before - did a quick search and couldnt see anything so here goes....

Looking at buying a second hand Fiat Doblo hi-top camper conversion (professionally converted).

Im doing a bit of research on insurance and was wondering if there are any specialist insurers for these kind of professional 'micro camper'conversions?

OK, yes I've heard they are quite popular, thanks for the info.

Also, is yours classified as a motorhome or MPV on the V5 document?

Just that the DVLA classifications for motorhomes are a little confusing and obviously I would prefer to insure it as a MPV.

Ours is classified as a car with DVLA.

We did the conversion ourselves and can whip out the camper bits to revert to 5 seater or use as a van.

We couldn't change its status to camper with the DVLA as they require certain criterea to be met. Adrian Flux were Ok with this and didn't charge any more.
