Doblo '06 1.3 Multijet has been a bit jumpy around 1700rpm for a couple of weeks. Today, engine light comes on, NO limp mode for a change but out comes the OBD2 cable and MultiECUscan.
Two error codes:
1. EGR valve sensor error.
2. DPF clog factor too high.
So first one is usually crapped up EGR valve - happened about two years ago as well. As these are a complete sod to get to in this vehicle, I will refer this one for professional help. However not Fiat this time who charged £200 to clean it, not replace it!
Second one however is more worrying. The DPF clog was 102.2%. So I did a forced regeneration. It has done lots of small journeys around London this month so is sort of expected. However, post forced regen, it's still reading 86.05% which is still pretty high.
I'm not taking this to a Fiat dealer.
So questions:
1. Should I get the EGR refurbished and cleaned or just replace it.
2. What should I do about the DPF. Does anything even need doing to it? Worth regenning it again a couple of times or is that dangerous?
3. Shall I just get rid of it now before it starts costing more?
For the sake of diagnostics:
EGR opens to 67%ish when idling, above about 2800 rpm it goes down to 2%.
