Hi

Bought a new Doblo Trekking a couple of months ago and it comes as standard without a spare wheel, just the tyre repair spray.

There is a space underneath for a wheel.

Has anybody fitted a spare wheel underneath with the bracket after purchase. Can this be a full sized wheel as opposed to a space saver?

From my first investigation I appear to be missing the slot to loosen the bracket bolt from above in the boot.

So is this something that can only be selected as an option on purchase?

Thanks

Richard

Hi

So after a long protracted process (about 10 weeks in total) where we were initially quoted £250 for a full sized spare wheel, with the same tyre as fitted to the Doblo (Trekking version has S+M tyre) and fitting.

Then the parts manager from the garage we bought the Doblo from left and was replaced by a new Parts Manager. Who then found out that the first Parts Manager had done nothing about the spare wheel and oh by the way its £600 not £250.

We then complain to Fiat, who intervene and the garage confirm they will fit the spare wheel for £250.

Car booked in for fitting. Turn up at garage ask to see tyre......it is not a S+M tyre. Parts Manager tries to tell me its new version of the tyre....quick google and I point out its a summer tyre. Parts manager disappears and receptionist arrives to announce they don't have the fitting instructions from fiat and they will call and pickup the Doblo when they have the details.

Two days later get a call from garage apparently you can not have a spare tyre fitted underneath if you don't take it as a factory option on purchase. Do I want the spare wheel in the back?

I ring Fiat they confirm that the garage is correct.

So apparently if you don't order a new Doblo (mine is a 2016 Doblo Trekking) with a full size spare wheel (Option is £170) then you can't have a spare wheel fitted in the space for it underneath.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who thinks differently.

Hi,
my guess is there is some other "bit-of-kit" occupying the space where the spare would've been under-slung.

removal Could have potential warranty implications..

my punto had a plastic "oddments tray" in the well,
so that's now sat in the shed and a steel spare sits in the well;)

it would be very simple to retro fit a spare wheel onto a doblo which didnt come with one, go to a breakers yard and collect the parts off van,

the van has a mechanism where you wind a tool just inside the rear door and the spare wheel is lowered down, my doblo van has traction plus and it came with the goodyear vector 4season tyres you are on about and it came with a full size spare wheel, it seems all sx spec vans have a spare

there is no spare wheel "well" as the wheel is hung by a cable underneath,

I will get some pictures for you later
